Have you ever launched a rocket of intention? I imagine, like me, you have launched thousands in your life.
Thoughts without intention are just thoughts and they will not materialize into anything without action. Intention is having aim or purpose; it’s something you are meant to do – an imagined outcome that guides your actions. If you can imagine the outcome as already here, it fuels your intentions and actions with more power. I love how Wayne Dyer describes the co-creative process between the universe and us in his book, ‘The Power of Intention.’
The more you see yourself as what you’d like to become, and act as if
what you want is already there, the more you’ll activate those dormant
forces that will collaborate to transform your dream into your reality.
– Wayne Dyer
Having an intention and a vision of what you’d like to become, or what you would like to achieve, is a good place to start. When you incorporate as many of the five senses as possible into your vision and feel the emotions associated with your vision, it gives your intention more power.
Whether you are visualizing going to a lush destination or dreaming of something you would like to create in your future, when you imagine your outcome as already here, it gives your idea more power. Paint a really clear picture in your mind of your heart’s desire and take a few moments each day to experience it as if it were already here.
Exercise: Think of a place where you have always dreamed to vacation. Imagine yourself there. What does the place look like? What smells do you notice around you? What is the temperature? What sounds do you hear around you? What does the food taste like? How do you feel being there? Explore as many sensations as possible.
