I have been practicing Reiki since I received my first initiation in India in 2011. I returned in 2012 to complete the master level of certification. The attunements were incredibly powerful and transformative experiences. I find it rewarding to give Reiki and very meditative to practice on myself. Each session teaches me something new.
What is Reiki
Reiki is a healing technique where the practitioner uses their palms, with or without touch, to help guide the life force energy already present in the receiver’s body. The energy or ‘ki’ is said to be present in all living things, similar to the concept of prana in yoga. The person receiving the benefits doesn’t have to be in the same room as the practitioner, as Reiki is used in distance healing as well.
I incorporate Reiki into most of my coaching sessions. When working one-on-one with a client and during a guided meditation, to tune into the wisdom of the body. I find myself experiencing sensations in my own body and know exactly where the client is feeling a concentration of energy before they share that information with me.
Being able to support someone on multiple levels; mentally, emotionally and energetically, allows for powerful transformation.
Here’s 7 reasons to try Reiki:
#1 For relaxation
#2 To heal injuries
#3 To relieve stress and anxiety
#4 To aid better sleep
#5 To release emotions
#6 To increase your energy level
#7 To tune into the wisdom of your body
I believe that Reiki, like yoga, is available to anyone. To try it you need only to allow yourself to be open to receive. Reiki can open us up to learn how to listen to our bodies and to make decisions regarding our general health and well-being.
